Today is my last day of work before its holiday time!! We are jet setting off to Phuket, Thailand tomorrow morning for two weeks of lying on the beach, getting massages, and eating (in my opinion) some of the best food in the world. Hoorah!!

Hello my lovelies!

The day of heart-shaped chocolate is soon to be upon us!! Now whether you consider it a day of shameless consumerism or a celebration of love (or both), I personally will never pass up on the opportunity to give and receive presents!! Especially when there may be pretty sparkly things involved.

But it is indeed a shame when you're given something heart-shaped and red and totally unappreciated. SO, I am compiling a few collections of lovely gifts that wont break the bank, or your heart.

(Yes, you could also read this as a flimsy excuse to inadvertently tell my husband what I want this V-day. I feel no shame. Honey, the first three are on the top of my list!)

I don't know if its just me and my obsessive personality (or if we are all closet obsessors), but I have a serious fantasizing problem. I can (and have) literally spend days fantasising about home wares.

You see, we are just about to move out of our icky apartment into a GORGEOUS Art Deco 2-bedder, and all the day-dreaming I have suppressed about home wares and furniture are now allowed to roam free!!

So, I have compiled a collection that my imagination tells me MUST be included in the decor for our new apartment. As with all fantasies, I must warn you that not all of these items are realistic or affordable. But there's no fun in sticking to those kinds of limitations. (Note: Yes, there is an awful lot of Anthropologie in here. I'm a sucker for their bright colours.)

'Rotating Kitchen' by Zeger Reyers

Hi hi hello,

I know its been an awful long time since my last post - sorry about that. To make up for it, I'm going to share with you something that (I think) is rather fantastic.

The following is a video of a food art installation from 2009 by a Dutch artist called Zeger Reyers. I found it astoundingly satisfying to watch. Enjoy!

Happy Birthday to ME!!

Hello darlings,

Goodness me it's been a long time since my last post. Sorry about that! Working like a crazy chicken makes Yaneka grumpy and uninspired. However, it was my birthday last week (very fast becoming my favourite week of the year), and my darling husband went online shopping like a lunatic!

I've had a lot of requests for pictures of what he gave me, but have not yet had the chance to take any (pure cussed laziness). HOWEVER, because (almost) everything he bought was online, I have pictures! Hurrah!

So here it is - my loot.

Vintage 1950's Party Dress!! Cant wait to wear it out..

SUPER CUTE Vintage Joseph La Rose shoes...They shredded my feet but I still love them!

Vintage Givenchy Skirt..the photo for this item is terrible. Its grey, not beige. Super Sexy.

Again, the picture just does not do this vintage skirt justice. The taffeta is almost luminescent! SO beautiful. Everytime I wear it I cant stop staring at it.

My GIANT Vivienne Westwood bag - How long I have waited to own you! SO Beautiful. There are no words - you all know what Vivienne does to me..

My husband commented last night that everywhere he turns in our apartment, he runs into Vivienne. Perhaps my obsession is starting to borderline on unhealthy addiction?? NO,no, of course not, dont be silly..

Pauls Boutique - Genius. The amount of people that stared at me when I used this bag for the first time was definitely a sign - We are meant to be!!

There was also a fur wrap which was not bought online, therfore pictures are still to come. Its a little bit gorgeous though!! Michael will never stop giving me fur.

And, apparently there is still one thing to come?
I am a very happy woman.
