Money Money Money!!

Do you ever have those days where you wish you owned three mansions and a private jet? Every now and again I throw off the shackles of contentment and bemoan my complete lack of obscene wealth. Don't judge me, I know you do it too. Perhaps you read a novel about the french royal court (pre-behedding days) and sigh in desperate longing, even though you know its wrong and wasteful and selfish! Sometimes I JUST WANT DIAMONDS!!!! LOTS AND LOTS OF DIAMONDS!!!! .... eh hem. Sorry about that.

Anyway, my major solution to this kind of mood is simple and effective: I go onto 1stbids.com, spend the afternoon swooning over antique furniture and costume jewellery (and yes, lots and lots of diamonds). Then I send a list of everything I want to my husband, he says, 'Yes dear', and we go on with our lives as if it never happened.

So, here are some of my most memorable finds from today's breakdown.

Diamonds and Lace in an Art Deco Ring

Cartier limited edition watch 1990's

A Gold, Ruby and Azure-Malachite Bombe Ring

'Roaring Lion' Coral and Emerald Brooch

Antique Gold Pendant Earrings in the form of Rowboats
Gold and Glass Ring, circa 1970

A Fien Terrestrial Table GLOBE c.1831

Regency Footstool Giltwood Animal Legs by Quatrain

Louis XV Chaperone Chair

Large Wall Tapestry

FYI - I genuinely believe that my life would be complete if I had that Glass eye ring.

Peacock Mosaic Coffee Table..

Hello hello!

I'd like to start by saying this: I don't do peacock themes. Sure, they're very pretty and exotic and whatnot but I find that the whole 'peacock'  idea is just soooooo overdone, following the Avoidance Policy is the only way to go. However, to every rule there is a (GORGEOUS) exception. And this is it. I have been looking at mosaic coffee tables (husband and I are in the market for one), and came across this masterpiece. Too bad, its already been nipped up, but I might just have to look into the art of mosaic for myself and see if I can recreate it..

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do! xxx

STALKING: Ricky Clifton

Hi Everyone!

Super GIANT apologies for the complete lack of posting in what.... 4 months? How on earth did that happen? I beg your forgiveness. I promise I'm going to try reeeeelly reeeelly hard to post more regularly. We have so much to catch up on!!
So, today I'm going to share with you my new obsession. I have completely lost my marbles over a interior designer that I stumbled upon recently. His name is Ricky Clifton, and he recently completed the fit out of Agyness Deyn's New York apartment. I am now stalking him. Honestly, I didnt even know who exactly Agyness Deyn was before I discovered this, but now I know: She is the woman with the most beautiful apartment in the world - AND SHE'S SELLING IT!! Anyone want to lend me $2.5 million?

Yes, yes, yes, I know, most people will hate this apartment. Why this age damns imagination I have no idea, but I will not stand for it! (Gosh, that was very strongly worded). I love it. If you don't, go find a white box to live in from Ikea. I'm sure that will be much more to your taste.

Valentines Day -Gifts for Her (or Me)

Hello my lovelies!

The day of heart-shaped chocolate is soon to be upon us!! Now whether you consider it a day of shameless consumerism or a celebration of love (or both), I personally will never pass up on the opportunity to give and receive presents!! Especially when there may be pretty sparkly things involved.

But it is indeed a shame when you're given something heart-shaped and red and totally unappreciated. SO, I am compiling a few collections of lovely gifts that wont break the bank, or your heart.

(Yes, you could also read this as a flimsy excuse to inadvertently tell my husband what I want this V-day. I feel no shame. Honey, the first three are on the top of my list!)

Homewares Fantasy

I don't know if its just me and my obsessive personality (or if we are all closet obsessors), but I have a serious fantasizing problem. I can (and have) literally spend days fantasising about home wares.

You see, we are just about to move out of our icky apartment into a GORGEOUS Art Deco 2-bedder, and all the day-dreaming I have suppressed about home wares and furniture are now allowed to roam free!!

So, I have compiled a collection that my imagination tells me MUST be included in the decor for our new apartment. As with all fantasies, I must warn you that not all of these items are realistic or affordable. But there's no fun in sticking to those kinds of limitations. (Note: Yes, there is an awful lot of Anthropologie in here. I'm a sucker for their bright colours.)
